Katharina Melnikova from Belarus began her musical training as a violinist. In 2015 under the guidance of University Professor Mag. Joanna Borowska-Isser she completed her vocal studies at the Graz University of Music and Dramatic Arts with distinction.
During her studies she was presented by Kammersänger Michael Schade as a “young vocal talent” as part of the Talent Series AMABILE set up by Dr. Michael Nemeth, Director of the Musikverein Styria. Katharina Melnikova received also two scholarships to participate in the American Institute of Musical Studies programm in Graz, where she gave many concerts and took part in Master Classes held by Chantal Mathias, Gabriele Lechner and Michèle Crider.
Already during her studies she gave her debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Despina and sang the title role in the comic opera “Die schöne Galathée” from Franz von Suppé in the Musikverein Styria. In the Coburg Summer Operetta Festival she made her debut in the operetta “Die Zirkusprinzessin” from Emmerich Kalman as Countess Fedora.
In 2014 Katharina Melnikova took part in the Rossini Academy of the Festival Aix-en Provence where she was chosen to be the “Lauréat HSBC de l’Académie du Festival d’Aix” which led to a Gala Concert with pieces from Rossini as part of the Festival of Aix-en-Provence.
Her artistic development then brought Katharina Melnikova to the Theatre Baden by Vienna where she successfully had her debut as Adele in “Die Fledermaus” and as Queen of the Night in “The Magic Flute”.
This was followed by her house debut in Teatro Verdi Trieste as Adele under the baton of Maestro Gianluigi Gelmetti and as Queen of the Night under the baton of Pedro Haffner-Caro.
In 2017 Katharina Melnikova made her house and role debut as La Fée in Massenet’s “Cendrillon” in Theater Freiburg under the baton of Fabrice Bollon. This opera was recorded by the music label NAXOS and is already available as a DVD.
In 2018 Katharina Melnikova gave her debut under the baton of Philippe Jordan as Blumenmädchen in Richard Wagner’s “Parsifal” at the Opéra Bastille in Paris, then made her role debut as Gilda in the Wernigeröder Schlossfestspiel 2018 and gave her debut at the Opera Graz as Jadja in "Polnische Hochzeit".
In recent times she has given concerts in the Musikverein Styria with the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra under Theodor Guschlbauer, with the Chamber Orchestra Con Fuoco under Svetoslav Borisov, also with the Bochumer Symphonikern, the Saarländischer Radio Orchestra under Oksana Lyniv and at the International Robert Stolz Verein in Belgium.
In 2019 she will take a part at the Europe concert tour "The world of Hans Zimmer".
